Priority 101 Series: Food Sovereignty & Security (OPEN TO ALL)

January 23, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Virtual Event

We’re thrilled to announce our 2023 Priority 101 series:  From our overarching themes of Education, Healthcare, and Climate & Agricultural, the WaWF membership has selected one priority within each theme: Early Childhood Education, Reproductive Justice & Maternal Health, and Food Security and Sovereignty.

Join us on January 23rd, 2023 at 12:00PM for the first part of our deep dive on Food Sovereignty and Security. This first panel will focus on the creative programs happening in our communities’ access to culturally appropriate food via sustainable food systems, and food security created through ecologically sound production lines. We will hear more about the relationship between people, power and food production, and the impact that relationship to the land has on climate and agricultural justice.

Tomas Madrigal of Food Justice, Amanda Sparks of Orcas Island Food Bank, Valerie Segrest of Tahoma Peak Solutions, and Danielle Nierenberg of Food Tank will share their unique perspective during this panel discussion.

Register here!

These events are free and open to the entire WaWF community, meaning they are open to all! We will record the panel discussions and share with those who register for viewing. For questions, please contact programs@wawomensfdn.org.
