Racial Equity in Funding Advocacy (OPEN TO ALL)

June 21, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Building on last June’s session with Bolder Advocacy, Investing in Change, join the Washington Women’s Foundation and Bolder Advocacy as we explore Racial Equity in Funding Advocacy on June 21st 2023 at 3PM.

This session is all about rolling up our sleeves and applying our experience around advocacy. After a short recap of the advocacy rules covered in our earlier sessions, we will dive in and explore a series of hypothetical scenarios that funders may encounter when it comes to supporting and engaging in advocacy. We will close out our session by sharing out some best practices and considerations for how funders can build power through advocacy to support racially equitable outcomes.

Advocacy definition: Our understanding of advocacy is work that seeks to advance an idea, argue a position, and/or enrich the debate about an issue of public concern. This could include education, research, litigation, campaigning, or nonpartisan political work.

For this event, please register via Bolder Advocacy at this link.

This virtual session is required for members of the Advocacy Grant committee, open to the community and the recording will be shared with those who register. Please email programs@wawomensfdn.org with any questions.
