2022 Film Discussion: Gather (MEMBERS ONLY)

May 9, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Virtual Event
Free

Join Washington Women’s Foundation’s Member Engagement Committee (MEC) to discuss Gather, a film about the growing movement amongst indigenous communities in America to reclaim their spiritual and cultural identities through their ancestral food systems. MEC invites all members of Washington Women’s Foundation (WaWF) to screen the film at home and then join us for this conversation. Gather is available for streaming on Amazon, iTunes, Netflix and Kanopy.

Bridget Ray will join WaWF to faciliate this discussion. Bridget is of mixed cultural heritage born and raised by the Salish Sea amongst coastal traditions. She is a graduate of The Evergreen State College with a duel BA/BS in Liberal Arts and Environmental Science. A development professional with over 25 years’ experience, Bridget is an accomplished Tribal Planner and Facilitator with expertise in integrated environmental projects, sustainable infrastructure, and public engagement. Ms. Ray is an active participant in Tribal Canoe Journey since Paddle to Elwha 2005 with increasing involvement in “green team” deep-roots organizing that honors traditional full-circle teachings of interconnection. She volunteers for several Native-run non-profits and is a prior Board Member of the Na’ah Illahee Fund.

Bridget currently serves as the Executive Director for the Salish Sea Collective, as the Fundraising Chair for the Earth Creative Board of Directors, and consults with local nonprofits and projects with Clear Sky Woman Consulting. She can be found regularly taking pack walks through the back woods with her mother on their land near Steh-Chass (Olympia).

This event is only open to members of Washington Women’s Foundation. A recording will be made available to all WaWF members.
