SUMMARY:MET: Pacific Bonsai Museum (MEMBERS + FRIENDS)
DESCRIPTION:Please join your fellow WaWF members for a guided tour of the Pacific Bonsai Museum on Sunday\, May 4th at 11:ooAM! \nNestled amidst towering conifers\, Pacific Bonsai Museum connects people to nature through the living art of bonsai. One of only two museums in the United States solely dedicated to bonsai\, and one of only a handful of bonsai museums worldwide\, Pacific Bonsai Museum maintains a collection of 150 bonsai that are among the finest examples of bonsai anywhere in the world. The collection is also the most geographically diverse bonsai collection in the United States\, with trees from Canada\, China\, Japan\, Korea\, Taiwan\, and the United States. A grand outdoor setting with the elegance of a fine art museum\, Pacific Bonsai Museum features sixty trees on exhibit at a given time\, open to the public six days a week.  \nWhere: Pacific Bonsai Museum 2515 S. 336th Street\, Federal Way\, WA 98003 \nCarpooling can be arranged from Seattle and the East Side.  \nMaximum Participants: 10 \nCost: $15 \nClick here to register for the Pacific Bonsai Tour!\n  In addition to the regular collection of bonsai\, this year there is an additional exhibit to enjoy! There are six\, magical\, tiny treehouses built into the branches of dearly departed bonsai trees\,  on view in our newest special exhibition\, Building Wonder: Bonsai Treehouses by Dave Creek. Each treehouse is a masterpiece of patience and wonder organically designed and crafted by Dave Creek\, the late beloved Bob’s Burgers animation artist. Five of the six treehouses belong to Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses\, a non-profit organization founded to honor Creek’s legacy. Previously the treehouses were shared only in children’s hospitals\, where they sparked joy and imagination\, but this year\,  Pacific Bonsai Museum is proud to bring these extraordinary miniature treehouses to YOU and everyone to enjoy. \nPlease email Christine at christinetatkins1@gmail.com with any questions.
