TRANSFORMATION IS PART OF OUR PROMISE. When you become a member of WA Women’s Foundation, you join hundreds of other smart, galvanized women who are focused on collective impact and lasting change. By bringing together women with diverse life experiences, individual members are changed by new ideas and by each other. We challenge each other to think beyond our current viewpoints, sharing knowledge, expanding our skills, and funding community-based solutions.
OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT
WA Women’s Foundation welcomes all community support. You don’t have to be a member to invest in our collective work and be a part of the transformation. Amplify your individual giving today!Contribute
YOUR MEMBERSHIP TRANSFORMS COMMUNITIES
Every member of WA Women’s Foundation makes an annual tax-deductible contribution of $2,500. The majority of this amount is directly applied to our grant making; all of it powers the transformative work we influence in each other and in communities across the state.
Anytime! We welcome new members throughout the year.
When you join WA Women’s Foundation, you can tailor your involvement based on your schedule and priorities. At a minimum, we ask that you make your $2,500 annual contribution, which is allocated as follows:
- $1,000 to our Pooled Grant Fund: Leverage your philanthropy through the experience of collective giving.
- $1,000 to your Individual Grants: Shape your impact as an individual philanthropist by recommending up to two nonprofits of your choice to receive individual grants.
- $500 to the Collective: Membership has benefits far beyond the impact of our grant making. Educational programming and events hosted by the Foundation build relationships between members and our community and increase our collective knowledge, amplify our collective voices and increase our collective influence.
We also ask that cast your vote for the Pooled Fund Grant each May, so that we may reveal who our new grantees will be at our Grant Award Celebration in June.
WA Women’s Foundation encourages and appreciates matching gifts.
Cash gifts received from organizations or corporations to match gifts or volunteer time will be credited to the organization or corporation, with soft credit to the individual donor’s record. Unless explicitly prohibited by the matching organization or corporation, these funds will be allocated to the same purpose as the individual donor’s gift. Please see our Gift Acceptance Policy for more details.
If you joined the Foundation between January and June, you will be asked to renew in April of each year. If you joined between July and December, you will be asked to renew annually in October. The Foundation mails and emails your renewal forms and reminders.
We ask that you make your individual grant recommendations within six months of initially joining the Foundation or within six months of your renewal. You can fill out the form online here, or submit a paper copy of the form that you will receive with your new member or renewal packet. Forms received by the 15th of each month will go through the due diligence process and be acted upon by the Board of Directors at its next meeting. Checks will be issued by the 15th of the following month and you will receive mailed confirmation when the grant has been sent.
Yes. Members are welcome to make additional contributions to the Pooled Grant Fund, including designating Individual Grants to the Pooled Grant Fund. However, during the annual voting process, each member receives one vote, regardless of the amount contributed.
